1) What is Pixelya?
Pixelya is the first-ever piece of art to be created online by one million artists. Each of Pixelya's pixels is painted in a color picked by the people.
2) What is the point of Pixelya?
The main point of Pixelya is to create an original piece of art based on the choices of a million people. As each painted pixel represents a donation, Pixelya's goal is also to collect a large amount of money that will be given to four chosen charities : The Red Cross, Mercy Corps, The American Cancer Society and UNICEF.
3) How is Pixelya going to look like?
Here is the only difficult question to answer. It will really depend on peoples' color preferences!
4) How to paint one of Pixelya's pixels?
In order to paint a pixel, you have to hover the cursor of your mouse over Pixelya until you find a free pixel and click it.
Some information will be requested :
- Your name/nickname : It is the name that will be indicated as the painter of the pixel in the information box. You can enter your real name or just enter a nickname.
- Your country : Select your country in the list. The flag of your country will be displayed in the information box linked to your pixel. This data will also allow Pixelya to present some interesting statistics about the nationalities of the painters who participated in Pixelya creation.
- Your website/blog/social profile URL : It is the Internet address (URL) that your pixel will link to if anybody clicks on it. If you don't have any website, or blog, or social profile, you can just enter the Internet Address (URL) of any website you like.
- The color of your pixel : Click on the text field to open the color selector and choose the color of your pixel. Please take your time as you choose your color : This is an important choice in Pixelya creation !
- Your photo/logo : Upload a photo or a logo that will be displayed in the information box of your pixel. The file must be .jpg, .gif or .png and its size cannot exceed 100 kb. Your photo will automatically be re-sized to have a width of 50 pixels and a height of 50 pixels. Uploading a photo or a logo is not required. If you don't want to upload a photo or a logo, an image painted in the same color of your pixel will automatically be created to be displayed in the information box linked to your pixel.
After you submit the form, Please choose which charity you will make a donation to and proceed to payment.
Your pixel will be painted right after the payment process is finished! You will be able to see it on Pixelya!
5) Am I allowed to paint more than one pixel?
Yes, you have the right to paint more than one pixel. However, it is not allowed to paint several adjacent pixels. In this case, pixels shall be erased without any compensation.
6) How long will pixelya.com be online?
Pixelya.com will be online as long as the hosting and administrative fees can be covered. We have calculated that each painted pixels increases Pixelya.com's lifetime by 12 hours.
7) Is there a way to fully display Pixelya?
The only solution for displaying Pixelya fully is to print it!
8) When will the donations be given to charities?
Donations will be given when all Pixelya's pixels will be painted.
8) When will I know if I won $50000?
When all pixels will be painted, one pixel will be chosen randomly on Pixelya and its painter will be the winner of $50000!
